Christy Gosnell
Principal
​Christy Gosnell has worked in the college counseling field since 1993. She served as a college guidance counselor at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bethesda, Maryland for over ten years, first as Associate Director, then as Director of College Guidance. In 2006, Christy founded her independent college advisory practice assisting individual students. She then acted as Interim Director of College Counseling at Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland for a year and remained at Landon for six more years as an Associate Director. Christy is associated with the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and served on both the regional and national boards of her alma mater, Duke University. Through her 30-plus years of experience as a college counseling professional, Christy has helped students from many regional schools as well as out-of-state and international students. She is committed to helping students achieve their goal of higher education.
Marybeth Myers
Senior Counselor
Marybeth Myers has partnered with Advanced Placements, bringing her critical and creative eye to support students through the college process. A graduate from Georgetown University, Marybeth has been in the college counseling field since 2004. She worked with Christy at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, serving as Associate Director of College Guidance. While employed at a national university, Marybeth was responsible for reading and reviewing both freshman undergraduate and transfer college applications. Additionally, she has consulted on medical and law school applications. Marybeth brings her collaborative spirit, institutional experience, and commitment to student success in the college application process.


Charlotte Halverson
Associate Counselor / Student Coordinator
Charlotte Halverson serves as Associate Counselor and Student Coordinator for Advanced Placements. Following her graduation from Duke University in 2018, Charlotte worked as an Editorial Assistant for an independent publisher, producing textbooks on public policy, international relations, criminology, and more for higher education. In 2020, she assumed the role of North Carolina Director and Lead Tutor with test prep experts at a DC-based tutoring company and National Test Prep Association (NTPA) founding partner. She brings an extensive knowledge of the latest ACT and SAT developments along with multiple years as a college essay editor to her role with Advanced Placements. Charlotte is a current member of the Higher Education Consultants Association. A highly empathetic advisor, she puts her students’ needs and goals at the forefront.
